Puckapunyal Community Open Day - 2022
9 April 2022, 10am to 1pm.
Brace yourselves, for the Tank Museum open day (2022) is coming.
Running in conjunction with the Puckapunyal Military Area (PMA) Community Open Day, the Tank Museum will once again bring out of storage our prized collection of the Family of M113 Armoured Personnel Carriers (APC), Centurion Tank and Swedish S-Tank; for those of you who missed out in 2020.
All visitors are welcome to peruse our set exhibits, gawp at the motor mechanics of the Swedish S-Tank and marvel at the mind-boggling technology variations between each of the M113 APCs. Additionally, while displays will be static, prepared to have your socks knocked off by the deep rumbles of the engines, as featured vehicles will be started up on the hour.
As always, museum staff will be in attendance to answer any and all questions you may have. With a $5 entry fee for all visitors, you can't afford to miss out on this exciting day out for the whole family!
Open Day - 2020 (M113)
Visitors to the Tank Museum were treated to a rare event this Saturday, with the complete collection of the M113 family of Armoured Personnel Carriers lined up in a static display. As the only complete collection in the world, visitors were welcomed to climb inside and compare the differences and take photos. Not to be outshined, the periodic roars of the Swedish S-Tank and the Centurion Tank drew excited onlookers, as the Museum volunteers demonstrated the differences between the two vehicle's gun movement mechanics.
